Creating a Contact Sheet
A contact sheet is defined below:
Contact sheet
A sheet that contains thumbnails of images. Contact sheets can be used to catalog images on your computer, in your digital library, or to offer choices for different photos to clients.
When using film, a photographer will place the negatives in contact with photo paper and expose it with light so they end up with a sheet that has thumbnail pictures of all the photos on a roll of film. This terminology has continued into the digital photo area and you are able to create contact sheets on your computer.
Simply put, a contact sheet is a sheet, or sheets, that contain multiple pictures on it. For your assignment you will make 50 photos fit onto no more than two pages. (25 photos per page, 5 rows 5 columns.
We will be using contact sheets to prove you have taken enough photos for your project. (I believe that you took the pictures that are required, I just need proof) To create a contact sheet you will use a program that was installed with Photoshop called Adobe Bridge. Your contact sheet will be printed on the black and white printer so we do not waste the color ink and paper. Be sure you include a header on your contact sheet with your name and assignment you are working on.
Please, if you get stuck or get confused, go back and reread what the assignment is and what you are supposed to be doing. If you are stuck in the program try the help menu while you are waiting on me to come to help you. I believe that you are capable of solving most issues if you are willing to try.
